Hello! My journey into Design followed a different path from the Computer Science/Visual Design route. After graduating from Syracuse University as an Undergrad with a degree in Business Administration in 2001, I entered the world of finance and worked at Merrill Lynch as an Equity Analyst for several years (2001-2007). After moving up the corporate ranks, I decided to go back to school and get my MBA at The Ross School of Business, University of Michigan.
At Ross, I was able to develop a creative mind with the various people from all walks of life that I attended school with. I developed intellectually and from there, I wanted to focus my professional career on becoming an agent of change.
After graduate school, in 2010, I re-entered finance and worked as a Bank Examiner at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It was a good experience. However, I was evolving into a fresh-creative thinker. I wanted to bring an innovative way of thinking to an organization that was a bit reluctant to change. In 2013, I decided to take a few years off to become a caretaker for my Grandmother. The caretaker role inspired me to focus and find out what it is that I really want to do and in what arena would I want to dedicate this untapped energy. During this time of personal discovery I found UX DESIGN!
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find points of tension behind an idea. I believe that empathy and communication are the most valuable skills that I possess.
I value learning something new each and every day. I have always had a strong understanding of people and show sympathy for what people want and need. That to me is the core of User Experience. I am keenly passionate about developing an experience process, while creating new and innovative designs to surprise and delight!
